Kindheart Consulting Group is partnering with Lockport Township to bring long-awaited stormwater improvements to the Fairmont community in Lockport, Illinois by implementing the findings of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) drainage assessment. This project addresses longstanding drainage challenges with practical, sustainable, and modern solutions designed to make a real difference for residents.
The Fairmont Stormwater Project marks a major step forward for the community. Years in the making, this initiative is focused on protecting homes, improving neighborhood infrastructure, and strengthening stormwater systems to better manage heavy rainfall and flooding. These improvements will create lasting benefits for Fairmont residents and help build a more resilient community for the future.
Phase One of the project is currently underway and is focused on improvements within the southeast (SE) watershed, an area identified as a priority in the USACE assessment. Funding for the project is provided through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
Engineering Resource Associates, Inc. (ERA) is advancing early project work, including surveying, setting control points, and completing essential groundwork needed to support future construction. Together, these efforts move the Fairmont Stormwater Project from planning to action—delivering meaningful progress for the community.
